(Unit 51 3D Modeling) - Activity 1

Here is a screenshot from cinema 4D of a 3D model that I have created. In cinema 4D I have used many different techniques and tools add realism to my model these tools include: Shape tools, Model manager & editor, Light tool, shadow tool, and reflection tool.

Here is another screenshot of a different 3D model I made using a couple different tools including: spot light tool, rotate tool and I have also used a figure shape along with the bend tool so that i can make unique postions for the figure. I have used some effects that i have mixed in with the colours to give it more depth and realism.

In this Screenshot I have created a small space ship and placed it upon a small stand for the effect of an actual model I used the same tools and techniques along with the extrude tool which was the key tool to create the shape of the ship. I used 3D painting to paint custom parts of the ship e.g- Wings, Body, Cockpit Glass and Engine Bays I combined all of these techniques to achieve this final outcome.

In this screenshot I have created a Pokeball, I used a online tutorial to help create the Pokeball, for this model I mainly used the Boole Tool to create the Red & White parts of the Pokeball and I also used the Extrude Tool to create the Pokeball button. The online tutorial also showed different lighting effects to get the effect of a showroom with the Pokeball on show.

In this screenshot I created a 3D reflective realistic glass, I used different techniques and tools that I used previously and I used a online tutorial for the glass effect.

In this screenshot I used my own knowledge to create a realistic looking plant earth with an overlooking sun along with reflective rays heading towards the planet and realistic shine around the earth. I achieved this by placing an Image of the earth onto a sphere and then edited the settings in the material manager. To achieve the sun effect was very easy and simple, all I did was place a light into position and then changed the settings in the lights settings tab and changed the visual to Sun1. I achieved the same with the reflective rays by changing the light effect tab to Flashlight.

In this screenhot I continued with my planet earth and sun model and added a small cluster of stars, I created the stars using a Sphere object and then placing it into an Explosion effect and then increased the ratio to spread the small parts across the background to create the effect of stars and a realistic looking moon placed to the left the earth, I created the moon by using the same technique as the earth, I just simply found a realistic moon texture which I placed on the moon. for the lighting effect on the  moon I placed a spotlight to create the effect of the sunlight.

In this screenshot I continued with my 3D Pokeball model. I decided to create the different types of Pokeballs. I found an image with a list of different types of Pokeballs which I could follow. After creating each Pokeball I simply scattered them roughly into position and rotated each one individually to show off the difference in colouring and shape.

In this screenshot I have created a diamond which I used an online tutorial to help me with creating the diamond shape. To achieve the shape of the diamond was mainly achieved by the changing of shape settings and then using the Selection Tool to choose individual lines which I then deleted to help with the shape of the diamond. After creating the diamond I then created a small stand for the diamond to be placed on which I think makes the model look slightly more realistic, I followed a seperate online tutorial to achieve the diamond glass effect which involved a lot of editing within the materials manager.

In This screenshot I followed a online tutorial to help me create this realistic looking ball bearing, for this particular model I used and learnt alot about the Array tool which helped me to copy an individual object with precise coordinates and I also learnt a bit more about Textures and colouring objects.

In This screenshot I have created a katana sword by simply using the extrude and extrude inner tools to create the basic shape of the handle and hand guard. For the blade I simply used a cube and changed the dimensions to create the thin and pointed edge of the blade. For the stand I simple used a cube for the base and stretched it out then I created two semi circle shapes and placed them on top of another smaller cube which i have stretched out, then I simply positioned the onto the stand. For the lighting I used a simple light and positioned it where i wanted the shadowing to be (I used the soft shadow option). For the flooring I created a low reflective texture so that you can see the underneath of the sword along with all the shadowing detail.

This is the screenshot for my final project, I made a very realistic model of a standard kitchen. I used quite simple techniques and tools including the Boole Tool, Splines and Extrude Nurbs, Lathe Nurbs and many more. I decided to make a Kitchen for my final project because I thought I would use very tool and techniques that I have learnt, I also thought that modelling a kitchen would benifit me because I am quite Interested in Design. I feel that the overall outcome of my final project was a great success especially with the realistic lighting effects coming through the window which shines onto the kitchen cupboards.
